Grabbing Charlie's right leg, Kal positioned it on her shoulder, then gripped Charlie's left ankle. She pulled Charlie an inch off the bed and rubbed the head of her cock between her slick folds to coat it. With hooded eyes, she grinned at Charlie's lustful whimpers.

"Oh fuck." Charlie rocked her hips and rubbed her clit against the tip of her lover's cock. "Oh gods that feels so good." She moaned louder when Kal pushed her hips forward but up, making the underside of her thick shaft massage Charlie's sensitive clit. She clutched Charlie's thigh near her chest to secure her. Yet Charlie managed to roll her aching clit against the hard length. With her head back, she kept working her clit and noticed that Kal remained still for a moment, letting her enjoy herself.

Unable to satisfy her craving, Charlie growled and dropped her ass down. "I need you to fuck me." She felt her heated demand pull at Kal's Alpha, and yet it wasn't enough. There was promise in Kal's eyes for later.

"Soon," Kal whispered. She then slipped the head past the entrance, spreading Charlie open. With gentle movement, she pushed forward until she found Charlie's G-spot and paused there, as if memorizing the spot.

Charlie lifted her head and peered down at the thick length protruding from her. She was greedy and ached for all of it. Confusion twisted her features when Kal didn't fuck her and didn't pound into her. Instead, her lover rocked her hips and started to rub the swollen head against Charlie's G-spot. Her heart leapt forward, and she squirmed from the beautiful sensation near her entrance.

"Oh gods, Sumner." Charlie clawed at the blanket and gulped for more air as she tried to survive the heat lancing through her body. "What are y-you doing?"

"Sit up and watch," Kal ordered without halting the short strokes of her cock inside Charlie.

Urging her strength, Charlie propped up her body with her elbows. Her eyes were fixed on Kal's cock easing in and out of her entrance, hitting her G-spot over and over.

  "Does it feel good?"

"J-ja." Charlie held her lower lip between her teeth until she was panting again. "It feels so good." It was new and different for her. Every shockwave raced up from her sex and burned in her chest, and she gasped louder. She tilted her head back and focused on the amazing sensation. Her moans were long and deep, until a single, sharp thrust made her scream. The strokes returned to short and delicate, building the pleasure at an intimate pace. Charlie loved every tiny bit of friction, and the pressure from the swollen head of Kal's cock hit her perfectly.

Earlier Kal had been focused and tested Charlie until she found the best rhythm. Now more confident, Kal increased the pace and gritted her teeth.

"Oh gods, fuck." Charlie shifted and watched the swollen head pushing and pulling near her entrance. She moaned and panted, noticing that Kal was echoing her. "Don't stop, please." She met Kal's gaze, then that invisible thread around her heart clenched with a different kind of need. "Don't ever stop," she whispered, a rawness cutting into her voice.

Kal responded with a deeper pump that elicited a cry from Charlie. "Mine," she growled and buried her nails into soft skin. Her Alpha shined in her eyes, and her canines flashed in the firelight. She jogged her hips faster, insisting Charlie orgasm on the head of her cock.

Charlie craned her neck and cried out as her lover drove her to the top. She was almost sure Kal's cock had swollen more as it banged harder against her G-spot. Her cries were harsh against her aching throat, but she didn't want this to end and fought off the orgasm. The rutting Alpha could have slammed into Charlie violently and without restraint. But instead, Kal remained in control and pleased her lover with a precise motion, stroking Charlie to her limit.

As her cries grew louder, Kal snarled and panted like a determined hunter. She increased the pressure against Charlie's G-spot with a rise of her hips. With three more hard strokes, Charlie broke in half and yelled, clawing at the blanket. Kal bared her clenched teeth and shoved her cock deeper during Charlie's orgasm.

Breathless and shaking, Charlie fell back and allowed the orgasm to envelope her. She felt her walls clench around Kal's cock to remain full and whole. After several deep breaths, she opened her eyes and looked up at the Alpha towering above her. She wanted Kal beside her or even on top of her.

Kal tested Charlie's tightness, pulling out with gentle movement. She dragged her nails along Charlie's thigh before releasing both legs and climbing onto the bed.

Charlie whimpered when her lover drew her farther into the bed and hid her from the world. Closing her eyes, she promised them both that she was going to rest for only a minute before she collected on the promise for a good fuck. But the security and warmth around her lulled her into a deep, peaceful sleep.

  Chapter 4

The dual suns hung low in the sky, announcing the start of a new day on the cooling planet. Charlie didn't mind it, even if she preferred to be in bed. Instead, she was guiding the two tacked horses from the stable to the front of the cabin. She stood and held the reins while she waited for her lover.

Everything around her was peaceful and whispered to her to remain here longer. A piece of her felt five years old again, wanting to stay at the cabin in hopes her parents would arrive soon. But she knew they were in the afterlife and ready for her return. One day, she told them, just not right now. Her thoughts were fragmented by the cabin door's creak, and she straightened up when Kal exited it.

In her hands, Kal held a large, iron padlock and an old key she inserted into it. She twisted once, then twice, and the padlock's shackle swung free. She turned to the door, jerked on the its handle, and worked the padlock into place.

Leaning to her right, Charlie watched her lover set the padlock, hindering anyone wanting to get into the cabin. There was very little to steal from the house or property, but a random person might take residence if they found it. The property's secret location reminded her of the cloth map in her jacket, which she fished out from the inside pocket.

Kal approached Charlie while tucking the padlock's key into her pants' pocket.

"I almost forgot." Charlie held out the abused map.

Kal accepted it and put it in the same spot as the key.

"Are you sure you're ready?" Charlie asked, zipping her jacket back up.

After a low rumble, Kal rested her hand on the sword hilt at her side. "Ja."

Charlie gave a faint nod, and her attention traveled back to the locked cabin.

  "You are not," Kal said.

Charlie sniffed, thanks to the cold air bothering her nose. "You think I want to give this up?" She signaled the beautiful landscape that hid them away from the scariness of Tarrak. "I could stay here… with you." She and Kal started putting the reins over the horses' heads, then mounted them. "For a long time," she whispered to herself.

Kal was first into the saddle, adjusting her body until she was comfortable. She peered over at Charlie and promised, "We'll return." She tapped the horse's side while saying, "And so will my rut."

Charlie frowned, still trying to get situated in the saddle. She hadn't ridden in the many years since Dorlon taught her, but most of the lessons returned to her. "Wait. What?" She urged her horse to follow the much larger, darker one. "Aren't you going to take suppressants now?"

Kal looked over at Charlie, who rode behind her along the trail. "Do you wish for me to take suppressants?"

"I feel like this is a trick question," Charlie replied and ducked under a low branch. "Do you really think you'll rut again? What if it was just a one-off thing?" She was rambling while her mind launched into thousands of directions at the idea of Kal rutting once every two noreds.

"Can you get more blockers?" Kal asked, peering over her shoulder at her lover.

Charlie blew out a breath, then urged her horse to ride next to Kal. "Ja. I can get more." She narrowed her eyes at Kal's thoughtful look. "Why?"

"Dorlon will want me to take the suppressants," Kal explained.

"To hide that you're rutting now," Charlie said, then shoo
k her head. "But you don't want to. Why not? If people find out that you're rutting, then they'll ask why."

"Or who," Kal whispered and glanced at Charlie. "But I'm an Alpha."

Charlie's shoulders fell, and she sympathized with Kal's need to be an Alpha. "Ja. You're more than just a god." She stretched out her arm, squeezed Kal's knee, and withdrew when the horses distanced themselves. "So you want to use the blockers as a compromise. Do you really think that'll get Dorlon off your back?" She was startled by Kal's snarl, then she realized how her question sounded to an Alpha. "I meant to get Dorlon to stop hassling you about suppressants."

Kal chuffed and glanced at Charlie. "Joh. But it's the only option I'm willing to take."

Charlie worked her jaw a few times, almost ready to speak as she tried understanding Kal's intent with the blockers. "You want to be an Alpha and rut into me." She blushed and squirmed in the saddle when Kal revealed her wolfish smile. "Sumner, I…." She had no idea what she wanted to say and faltered for a moment.

"I will take the suppressants if that's what you wish," Kal offered, her tone neutral again.

"Joh. I don't want you taking something you're against," Charlie argued as her heart beat harder.

  "But if you—"

"I'm not against it," Charlie interrupted, then sighed and stared straight ahead. "I'm just worried it's an increased risk that someone will find out what's going on."

"I can manage it," Kal promised.

Charlie peered over and studied her lover's confident features, then put her trust into Kal's abilities. "All right." She nodded with firmness and said, "We'll go with the blockers if you rut again."

  "I will rut."

Licking her lips, Charlie eyed Kal across the space between them. "How sure are you of that?"

"Completely." Kal was smug and prideful, a true Alpha at her core.

Charlie blew out a breath, and her body hummed from Kal's cocky attitude. Her eyes dropped to Kal's crotch in search of the bulge behind the saddle's horn.

Kal snarled and leaned in the saddle toward Charlie. "Don't make my ride back any more uncomfortable."

Smirking, Charlie bit down on a snarky reply. "We can always take a break if you need one." She jerked after another growl, but she shrugged it off. "Just a thought." She urged her horse to the front when the path narrowed again, passing orange and yellow leaves.

Charlie guided her horse up to Kal, who was seated high on the stationary gelding. She frowned at Kal's serious demeanor and pulled back on the reins when close enough. "What's up?"

Kal raised an eyebrow at the Earthling slang, but replied, "We're not far from the main road." She tilted her head when she turned her gaze forward. "We'll need to separate."

"Right." Charlie frowned and whispered, "We can't ride into Tarrak together." She shifted in the saddle and considered the options. "Well, I should probably find Raine and see if she has any idea where I'm staying. I kind of blew out of there without saying anything." She had a guilty smile. "I'll go through the Koblenz Gate."

Kal responded with a rumble, then narrowed her eyes at Charlie. "You have your weapons?"

  "Ja. I'll be fine."

After a single nod, Kal said, "Then you should go now."

Charlie parted her lips, but she sighed and returned the nod once she accepted their separation. Already they were shifting to their former roles as ruler and mercenary, and it sliced into Charlie. She toyed with the reins and tapped the horse's sides, urging the animal to take her to the city.

  "Charlie?"

Pulling on the reins, Charlie peered over her shoulder at her lover. A spark of hope grew in her while she studied Kal, who was both beautiful and strong. She almost crumbled at the idea that they would have to pretend they were nothing to each other, even after unlocking each other's secrets.

"I will find you after I arrive."

With a faint smile, Charlie urged the horse to go before she broke down and asked for more. She rode the horse at a hard canter now that the trees and brush were thinning out. The ride to the main road was only ten minutes; then she continued the fast pace toward Tarrak, putting distance between her and Kal.

The cobblestone road was dotted with other travelers, mostly people hauling supplies between cities, towns, and villages. The goods and wares were stored in wagons, pulled by different animals like horses or a larger animal called a pooren that was a cross between an ox and bear from Earth. They were large, furry beasts with horns and the strength to pull heavy loads. Often the pooren provided a level of security due to their razor teeth and claws. Charlie had forgotten the size of the beasts when she passed a double wagon towed by three of them. She slowed her horse and gave them a wide berth, then greeted the two Alphas merchants.

After passing several small merchant wagons, she counted three hover vehicles with patrolling soldiers. She wasn't far from the city, so she kept her horse at a steady walk. In the distance, she could see initial signs of buildings of the old capital beyond the trees. If she continued on this path, she would enter the through the Great Gate, but Charlie steered the horse to a side road that wrapped around the city and went to the other southern gate along the Koblenz River. The southern gate was used by merchants bypassing the city's busy streets.

Foot soldiers at the Koblenz Gates eyed the travelers but hassled few, including Charlie. Once in the city, she was forced to dismount and guide the horse through the traffic. But luck was on her side as she neared the bustling market and found Raine at her usual spot. She noticed Raine was busy talking to a customer, so she located a spot to hitch her horse. Removing her techbit from her saddlebag, she turned it on and reconnected it to the planet's satellite communications.

Chewing her lower lip, Charlie watched the applications and notifications load, including a message from Sallarus. She almost tapped it when Raine's voice made her lower the device.

"Well, look who surfaced." Raine stood with her arms folded, head tilted, and eyes narrowed. "Here I thought you changed your mind and had Magnar pick you up after all."

Charlie pocketed the techbit and glared at her friend. "I made a promise." She warmed her hands in her jacket's pockets and shrugged at Raine's suspicious look. "I had to take care of some business." Gods that sounds so lame.

"Right." Coming closer, Raine didn't believe Charlie's excuse and indicated the horse with a chin nod. "Nice horse too."

Charlie patted the horse's neck and said, "She's Dorlon's ride."

Raine rolled her eyes and dropped her arms. "Of course she rides instead of using hover transportation."

"Sorry for vanishing," Charlie offered in hopes that Raine wouldn't push the conversation. "Something came up that I had to handle."

Raine held up her hands in defeat, then dropped them. "I get it. It's cool." She glanced over her shoulder to check her stall, but Chris wasn't swamped by customers. "So what now?"

"I was going to ask you the same thing." Charlie lifted her shoulders high and rocked on her boots. "I don't know where I'm staying or what I'm doing for the next six noreds."

"I have room for you at my place." Raine pointed at Chris from over her shoulder and said, "I rent out a place outside the city for me and Chris." She lowered her hand. "It's on a farm."

  "A farm?" Charlie echoed.

Raine sighed and glowered at Charlie's attitude. "We just stay there. Repair some of the tech there, then sell shit here. We go back to New Earth for a nored or two at a time to see family and friends."

Scratching her nose, Charlie tried imaging such a life, and she shook her head. "No wonder you're still single."

Raine sputtered and went wide eyed before pointing at her chest. "Me? How about you?" She laughed, then teased, "I'd date me before I'd date you."

Crinkling her nose, Charlie said, "Same." She puckered her lips and asked, "So what am I supposed to do for the next six noreds?"

"Oh. Well, that's more your problem than mine," Raine re
plied, her voice playful and eyes gleaming.

"Raine, come on." Charlie held out her arms while keeping her hands in the jacket pockets. "I will get bored out of my mind."

"Fine, fine. You can help me with my business." Raine nodded toward it and revealed, "Chris has been talking about taking a long break and staying in New Earth. I think his girlfriend is over the long distance thing."

Charlie chuckled, then peered around Raine at the busy stall that had a variety of Alphas and Omegas poking through things. "Sell tech, huh?" She pursed her lips and considered her ability to sell things besides mercenary jobs. "I can do that." At least for now, she thought, until I get really bored. She wanted to ask more, but Raine's attention shifted to something behind Charlie. Her heart thrummed and a low hum grew stronger in her body. She already knew who it was but confirmed Kal's presence with a glance.

All around them, the crowd of people paused upon seeing their godly ruler; then they continued their business in the market. Raine was staring at the ruler like she was a foreigner among them. Charlie was almost inclined to jab her friend in the ribs.

  "Turen, Charlie."

Dipping her head, Charlie said, "Turen, Kal." She frowned at Raine's awed look, then cleared her throat. "I guess you didn't really get a chance to properly meet my friend the other day."

Kal stood tall with her hands in front of her body and stony features set on Charlie before she turned them to Raine. "Joh."

Charlie nodded and indicated her childhood friend. "This is Raine Ramos. We met as kids on the Liberator." She let go of her tension when Raine worked herself out of her stupor and held out her arm to Kal, who clasped it.

Kal's grip was firm, showing her respect to Raine.

With a curious stare, Raine held longer than necessary and asked, "Have we met before?" Her eyes seemed lost in the past.

Kal released arms and replied, "Not that I'm aware of."

Charlie frowned after the strange introduction and eyed Raine, who was working through something. She made a mental note to ask Raine about it later. "So Raine and I were just going over what I'll be doing for the next six noreds while I'm stuck here." She held down her body's natural response to Kal's throaty rumble. "Apparently she needs help selling more tech."
